About the Circle of Spirit and Reconciliation Committee
CSR was created to bring more Indigenous cultural events to the work we do within the organization and to the communities we serve.
The following Spirit Statement reflects the current relationship with our organization and the relationship with reconciliation. As the spiritual awareness continues to grow, so too will the statement of the committee. As with any spiritual work, we will evolve to continue to meet the needs of those committed to the work.
“The Circle of Spirit and Reconciliation strives to honour and recognize the importance of reconciliation and reclamation of cultural practices within the CMHA, Manitoba and Winnipeg community. With the understanding that culture and spirituality can be one in the same, we will work collectively to provide and uphold cultural competency and cultural safety while promoting self-determination to honour individual and community resiliency. In doing so, our work will aim to provide a safe space to incorporate culture as an intervention into the CMHA, Manitoba and Winnipeg recovery model and overall support practices.”
All entries should be inspired by the Circle of Spirit and Reconciliation Spirit Statement.
