The following workshops are available to be booked:
Introduction to Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace – 1 hour Workshop
The National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the workplace (the Standard) describes a psychologically health and safe workplace as one, “that promotes workers’ psychological well-being and actively works to prevent harm to workers psychological health, including in negligent, reckless, or intentional ways.” Topics covered during this workshop include:
- Learn about the Standard, including history, development, and how to access it
- The 13 Psychosocial Factors at the core of the Standard
- The benefits of implementing the Standard in your workplace
Understanding Mental Health Problems – 1-3 hours Workshop
During this workshop, which can be adapted to be offered between one and three hours, you will gain a basic knowledge of common mental health problems. It can be helpful to be aware of the signs and symptoms that may indicate whether a person is struggling with a mental health problem. The topics covered in this workshop include:
- A common understanding of mental health and mental health problems
- An overview of mental disorders
- Information on stigma and myths
- An introduction to talking about mental health
Mental Health in the Workplace – 1-3 hour Workshop
This workshop, which can be adapted to be offered between one and three hours, will look at mental health and the importance of maintaining positive mental health in the workplace and strategies for maintaining work/life balance. The topics covered in this workshop include:
- General workplace mental health information
- Identifying signs that someone is struggling with mental health problems in the workplace
- Ways we can start a conversation with someone who is struggling
- A discussion on tools we can use to maintain our own mental health
Mental Health and Older Adults – 1 hour Workshop
This workshop will look at mental health problems and growing older. The topics covered in this workshop include:
- A look at common mental health problems in the older population
- Barriers to seeking help
- Community resources
